Privacy Policy
Myexis is built so that your data stays with you. Everything the app learns about your digital footprint is processed on your device and stored there and in your own iCloud. There is no Myexis server that receives it, and no one at Myexis can read it.
Who we are
Myexis (“Myexis”, “we”, “us”) is a service operated as a sole proprietorship established in Belgium. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, contact us at privacy@myexis.com.
This policy covers the Myexis iOS app and this website (myexis.com). It is written for our first launch market, the United States, and also describes the rights of users in California and, briefly, the EEA/UK.
The short version
- We don’t have a server that holds your data. Myexis has no backend database of users. What the app builds — the map of companies that know you — lives on your device and in your private iCloud.
- We read email metadata, never message bodies. When you connect an inbox, Myexis reads only who each message is from, the date, and the subject line — enough to recognise which companies have you. It never reads, stores, or transmits the body of your emails.
- Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising. There is no analytics SDK, no ad network, no tracking identifier, and no data broker in Myexis.
- You can disconnect and erase at any time. Disconnecting an inbox and deleting the app removes the access and the local data; you can also revoke access directly with your email provider.
What data is involved, and where it lives
Email metadata you choose to connect
With your permission, Myexis connects to your email provider (Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo) using their official sign-in and reads metadata only: the sender, the date, and the subject line of messages. From this it recognises the companies and services that have an account or relationship with you. The content of your emails is never accessed. This processing happens on your device.
The footprint Myexis builds
The result — your list of companies, categories, contacts, notes, and the monthly snapshots — is stored locally on your device (in app storage) and, if you use backup, in your own iCloud account, scoped to your Apple ID. This is Apple’s private storage: it is not a Myexis server and we cannot access it.
Your provider connection
The access token that lets the app read your inbox is held securely in your device’s Keychain. It is never sent to Myexis.
Sign in with Apple
Myexis uses Sign in with Apple only to secure your private identity and iCloud backup. We do not store your email address or any password.
Subscriptions
Myexis Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple, not Myexis, processes the payment; we never see your card or billing details. We receive only the anonymous receipt Apple provides to confirm an active subscription.
This website
myexis.com serves these pages. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and the pages you are reading set no cookie at all.
Google user data — Limited Use
Because Myexis requests read access to your Gmail metadata, our handling of Google user data follows Google’s requirements:
In practice this means:
- Gmail data is used only to provide the user-facing footprint feature you see in the app — recognising the companies that have you.
- We do not transfer this data to anyone, because it never leaves your device and your own iCloud.
- We do not use it for advertising, and we never sell it.
- No human at Myexis reads it. There is no server on which a human could.
How we use the data
Solely to provide the app’s features to you: building and showing your footprint, its categories and snapshots, and the guidance to manage or close accounts. We do not profile you for anyone else, and we do not make the data available to third parties.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. Because the data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, there is nothing for us to share. Your email provider and Apple process data as described above under their own privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
You control retention. The footprint persists on your device until you delete items, disconnect the inbox, or remove the app. Deleting the app removes the local data; your iCloud backup follows Apple’s rules for your account. You can also revoke Myexis’s access at any time from your Google account permissions (or the equivalent for Microsoft or Yahoo).
Your rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Myexis does not sell or share your personal information, and does not process it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Because your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, most requests you can fulfil directly in the app; for anything else, contact privacy@myexis.com and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
EEA/UK residents. Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, our lawful basis for the processing above is the performance of our service to you and your consent to connect an inbox, which you can withdraw at any time by disconnecting. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Belgium, the Data Protection Authority).
Children
Myexis is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date at this same URL.
